Dr Hogden’s Training and Affiliations

Dr Hogden completed his ophthalmology training at the Sydney Eye Hospital, where he was recognized for his excellence with a travelling scholarship and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO) Topham Scholarship. Dr Hogden further refined his knowledge and skills with subspecialty training in corneal and refractive surgery at the world-renowned University of British Columbia Vancouver Eye Care Centre in Canada before entering private practice.

In addition to being a Fellow of RANZCO, Dr Hogden belongs to other prestigious professional associations such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Committed to furthering the field of anterior segment and refractive surgery, Dr Hogden is actively involved in ongoing clinical research and has presented at international ophthalmology conferences as well as authored several papers. He has also helped educate future ophthalmologists through positions as a clinical supervisor for RANZCO, senior lecturer at the University of Queensland and tutor at multiple universities. Dr Hogden is a consultant Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), where he is actively involved in clinical research and medical education.
